Magick in the Air: Witnessing the Power of Direct Experience
The Psychic Witch Retreat at Omega
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to lead my very first Psychic Witch Retreat at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. It was an unforgettable experience connecting with such an inspiring group of people at different levels of psychic and magickal experience. Even though we spent a whole week together, it went by way too fast. On the first morning, I was wandering around the Omega campus with the brochure map in hand, trying to figure out where my classroom was. As I turned a corner, I ran into two other ladies who looked just as lost. One of them, looking around suspiciously, leaned in toward me like a nosey housewife ready to spill some juicy neighborhood gossip and whispered in a hushed voice dripping with judgment, “There’s some kind of witchcraft thing going on this week.” Trying not to laugh, I mirrored her tone and expression, nodding seriously and playing dumb, “Oh, how weird!” It took everything in me to keep a straight face. Little did they know, they’d just stumbled across the witch leading the workshop they were talking about!
In the introduction to my book Psychic Witch, I write that, “Though it is not my intention to prove that both psychic ability and magickal ability are real on blind faith alone, let me assure you that they are. My goal is not for you to just take my word for it, but to have you prove this to yourself through direct experience by the time you come to the end of this book.” That was the intention I carried into this retreat: to give everyone hands-on practice and the opportunity to validate these abilities through their own direct experiences. By the end of the week, I left feeling like we had truly achieved that together. We experienced together one of the wisdom sayings passed on in witchcraft which I also shared with them during the retreat, that “witches don’t believe, they know.”
Aside from teaching and leading discussions (and occasionally going off track into random tangents), I was incredibly proud of the group of 29 attendees that came together. They were engaged, open, and motivated to push themselves. I taught them how to perceive, direct, and utilize energy, which included casting a circle and experiencing what a real magick circle feels like, both from inside and outside of it. It wasn’t just about feeling the difference, but about seeing it and engaging their psychic senses in a new way. Many of them could hear what I do when I cast a circle, a particular pitch of rining in the ears until it’s taken down.
We spent time diving into scrying techniques for tarot, something I also teach in my book The Psychic Art of Tarot, which I’ll be covering in an upcoming class at Moon Kissed this month in Santa Cruz. It was amazing to see how quickly they picked up on these skills, and I was especially impressed with their progress when it came to identifying specific tarot cards I drew using their newly developed ESP abilities. They blew me away.
One of the biggest highlights for me was teaching them how to see auras. After giving instructions and letting them begin the exercise, someone suddenly exclaimed, “Holy shit!” because they could actually see it. Those are the moments I live for as a teacher. I then had them test on me. I demonstrated expanding and retracting my aura, shifting its colors, and having them describe what they saw. They were able to accurately identify my aura’s changes 95% of the time—a truly impressive feat, given the short time we had between instructions and hands-on practice.
And then, something unexpected happened. Several of the attendees mentioned they saw something about my aura that I never talk about publicly—something only someone who has truly awakened their sight would notice. That moment was a reminder to me that the psychic development techniques I teach will work for anyone willing to put in the work. It was an honor to see this group make such rapid progress, and I left feeling deeply inspired by their growth and dedication. We covered so many other aspects of magick, spellcasting, and psychic development—all too long to talk about here.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of attendees for my first Omega retreat on this topic. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to dive headfirst into each exercise made the entire experience unforgettable. It was an honor to spend the week with them, witnessing their growth and breakthroughs firsthand. I left feeling incredibly grateful to have been a part of their journey, and I’m already looking forward to seeing where their psychic and magickal paths take them next. A special thanks to each of them for making this retreat memorable.
Every attendee seemed to genuinely enjoy the retreat, with many of them telling me so throughout the week. A few even shared that it was a life-changing experience for them, which made me want to cry. Hearing that was such a powerful reminder of why I do this work. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and deeply appreciative of Omega for inviting me to offer this retreat. I’m excited to share that I’ll be returning in 2025 to lead the Psychic Witch Retreat again, along with a few other surprise retreats and weekends that I’ll announce once the details are finalized. Stay tuned!
PS -
If you’ve read and enjoyed my books, I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a review on sites like Amazon, Goodreads, or anywhere else you can review books. You don’t need to have bought the book from Amazon to leave a review, and they don’t have to be long—a few sentences are enough. Posting pictures of the book on social media and making video reviews on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are also incredibly helpful ways to spread the word, as is writing reviews on your own blogs and websites. These small actions make a huge difference in helping my work reach more people, so thank you for your support!
For those of you not in the United States, The Psychic Art of Tarot is officially released internationally tomorrow!
